There are two types of 'Preparation for Holy Baptism' that happen in the Nhill Lutheran Parish. The first is for a child aged up to 12 years of age. The second is for someone who is older than 13 years of age.
Of a Child:
The focus in the Baptism of a Child is spent preparing his or her Parents for teaching the basics of the Christian faith to their child. Traditionally this has taken place through a visit of the Pastor with the Parents. To give Parents the greatest opportunity to start teaching their child the Christian faith and preparing them to fulfil the promises they make to bring their child to God's House and teaching them the 10 Commandments, Apostle's Creed, and Lord's Prayer, they are encouraged to;
- Submit a 'Registration of Intent' form
- The parents will receive a phone call from Pastor
- Parents will then be given access to the Parishes Online Baptismal Preparation
- Parents will receive an inperson visit from Pastor
- Preparation will also be given to the Child's prospective God Parents, who will promise to bring their new God Child up in the Christian Faith.
